Guybrush's Journey

Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge (in English Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge) is the second chapter of the Monkey Island saga and was produced in 1991, just a year after its debut. The very short period of time between the publication of the two titles does not result in an approximate realization, far from it. This time Guybrush is on the trail of the fabulous and legendary treasure Big Whoop, a treasure that would make whoever found it the most powerful of men, even the old (deceased) LeChuck. During the investigation, however, the protagonist, who comes into contact with one of the ghost pirate's henchmen, mistakenly provides the opportunity to resurrect him. Thus the fight between the two begins again, while the search for treasure continues among the Caribbean islands. Some of the old characters meet again, Elaine, the irresistible Stan and the zombie version of the ghost pirate LeChuck, co-protagonist of the amazing finale. There is no shortage of new encounters like Wally, the boy cartographer who needs his monocle to work, or the unlikely governor of Phatt Island, bedridden by obesity but no less devoted to food (which is given to him thanks to ducts coming from the kitchens). A small curiosity concerns the LucasArts logo which makes its debut with Monkey Island 2 in place of the original writing. Towards the mid-1990s, LucasArts published, together with other titles, a new version of Monkey 2 on CD-Rom, the same as the 1991 version but faster in loading and longer lasting thanks to the greater resistance of the new support. In 2007, LucasArts re-published "Monkey Island 2", a version identical in all respects to the 1991 version, in a compilation of ancient Lucas glories.
