EN ROUTE TO THE CARIBBEAN · SINCE 1999I want to start now
Steam and GOG offer computer editions. Supported platforms depend on the particular version: read its product page first.
Every voyage needs the right equipment. Find digital editions, second-hand physical copies and tools for playing the games you already own. Choose a chapter for links to stores and information about the specified edition.

I want the box
Look for historical floppy, CD and boxed editions on the second-hand market. Check language, readable media, manuals and completeness; redeemed codes may not be reusable.
I already own the game
ScummVM and DREAMM can help with supported classic editions. They require your own game files: they do not include the games or automatically support every reissue.

The Secret of Monkey Island
Digital editions
The original adventure is from 1990; the linked stores offer the 2009 Special Edition, with redrawn graphics and a classic-look toggle.
Launching and compatibility
Launch the Special Edition using its own application. Original game data can work with ScummVM or a supported DREAMM version: classic graphics inside the Special Edition do not by themselves supply the DOS edition’s files.
Languages
The Special Edition includes English voices and Italian text. Check the specific language of older boxed copies.

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge
Digital editions
The original is from 1991; these store links offer the 2010 Special Edition with new graphics and voice acting.
Launching and compatibility
Launch the Special Edition directly. A compatible original copy can run in ScummVM or DREAMM; check the files and executables required by your chosen tool.
Languages
The Special Edition includes English voices and Italian text. Older copies vary by edition.

Digital editions
The third chapter was released in 1997. The computer store release date may be later than the original game’s year.
Launching and compatibility
Use the store installation or compatible game data in ScummVM. DREAMM also lists supported Steam and GOG editions: check its version table.

Escape from Monkey Island
Digital editions
The fourth chapter is from 2000. Steam and GOG offer computer editions; old PC boxes can also be sought second-hand.
Launching and compatibility
Check the store installation and requirements first. DREAMM supports specific Steam and GOG editions. ScummVM 2026.4.0 marks Escape as ‘Bugged’, so it is not presented as a trouble-free option.

The linked editions list Italian text and voices. Always check the physical copy’s language and platform.

Tales of Monkey Island
Digital editions
Tales, from 2009, is a five-episode season. The Steam link opens the complete package; GOG offers the Complete Season for Windows.
Launching and compatibility
Install and launch it as a computer game without ScummVM. DVD releases and the anniversary USB version also exist: distinguish these editions before applying a patch.
Languages
The official editions checked do not include Italian. Fan patches translate the five episodes’ text and subtitles; voices stay English. Compatibility with every current installation and the USB has not been verified here.

The Italian translation is a fan project by the MIForum community: it translates text, not voice acting. The community discussion helps identify patches and editions; some old distribution sites are no longer reachable. We do not present an old download as verified: follow the patch’s instructions for your episode and edition.

The Monkey Island 30th Anniversary Anthology contains the first five chapters, also on a ship-shaped USB drive with DRM-free Windows installations. Tales is listed in English; Return is not included. The Limited Run page checked shows the set as sold out: check that used sets actually include the USB and discs.
