A title can become a promise. A scene can make us question an entire adventure. Passed between players, a question can outlive its first telling. Monkey Island’s Secret also lives in the distance between what we have seen and what we want to know.
This dossier keeps different kinds of evidence separate. A scene is not automatically an author’s explanation; a later recollection does not change the date of an earlier theory. Follow the sources, compare their dates and decide which questions each can answer.
